Our flight took around 2 hours from Sydney Kingsford Smith airport to Hobart International airport (an international airport which only seem to accommodate charter flights from New Zealand apart from mainland Australia). It’s a small and convenient airport so the walk from the plane to the baggage carousel is only a few steps.

St. Ives Apartment is located on St. Georges Terrace, Battery Point. It is a lovely inner suburb of Hobart surrounded by well-maintained small hill neighborhoods. I had chosen this hotel to get a larger room at a better price than in the inner city.

As I had a rented car, I didn’t have to limit the choice to be close to public transport or within walking distance from the attractions. I had expected a nice view from the balcony, but our room was on a low floor so the view was blocked. Apart from that, St Ives is a standard apartment hotel with a comfortable bed, AC/Heater, a small but well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower but no bathtub. It is also at walking distance from Salamanca place (the commercial water front area of the city).
